Gallbladder-To-Intestine And Stomach Bypass

Montana rates for HCPCS 47721

The gallbladder is joined directly to the small intestine so bile can drain into the gut past a blocked bile duct, and in the same operation the stomach is also joined to the intestine so food can pass a blockage at the stomach outlet. It is used when the cause of the blockage, often a growth, cannot be removed. Restoring both routes at once relieves jaundice and itching and allows eating to continue.
