Bile Duct Stent Placed Through The Skin

Vermont rates for HCPCS 47540

Places a stent - a short tube that props a blocked bile duct open from the inside - by passing instruments through the skin and into the liver, using imaging to guide every step. The route into the bile ducts is created during this procedure rather than using an existing one, and a separate drainage tube is also left in place afterwards.
