Bile Duct Stent Placed Through the Skin

Vermont rates for HCPCS 47539

Places a stent, a short tube that props a blocked bile duct open, by passing a needle through the skin into the bile ducts inside the liver under live X-ray guidance. A fresh route into the duct system is created during the same session. Reopening the duct lets bile drain again and relieves jaundice, itching and pain.
