Heat Destruction Of A Liver Tumor Through The Skin

Wyoming rates for HCPCS 47382

Destroys a tumor in the liver with heat, without open surgery. Guided by scan pictures, a needle-like probe is passed through the skin into the tumor, and radiofrequency energy heats the tip so the surrounding tumor tissue is killed. It is used for small liver cancers and for cancer that has spread to the liver, when removing part of the liver is not the best option.
