Corrects a birth difference in which a baby's bowel ends just beneath the skin but opens in the wrong place, onto the perineum or just outside the vaginal opening, instead of at the anus. The misplaced opening is moved back to the correct position and a proper anal opening is created there. It is done through the area between the buttocks, without an operation inside the abdomen.
