Vermont rates for HCPCS 46280
Surgery for an anal fistula, an abnormal tunnel between the anal canal and the skin, where the tunnel takes a course through or around the muscle rings that control the bowel, or where more than one tunnel is present. The tunnel is removed or laid open, and a soft loop called a seton may be threaded through it and left in place so it keeps draining while the muscle is protected. It is done under anesthesia and may be the first of more than one stage.
