Rectum Lifted and Secured With Colon Removal

Vermont rates for HCPCS 45550

Lifts a rectum that has dropped out of position and secures it to the back of the pelvis, and also removes the sigmoid colon, the S-shaped stretch just above it, joining the remaining ends together. Taking out the redundant loop reduces the chance of the prolapse returning and can ease constipation. It is done through an abdominal incision.
