Repair of Rectal Lining That Has Slipped Down

Surgical repair of the lining of the lower rectum and anal canal when it has loosened and slid down out of position. The excess lining is trimmed or tucked and stitched back where it belongs, restoring the normal shape of the canal. It is done for symptoms such as a protruding bulge, mucus leakage or irritation.
