This is a full colonoscopy in which a flexible scope is passed through the entire colon and a technique is used to lift and remove a larger, flat area of the colon's inner lining, typically to take out a polyp or abnormal patch of tissue that is too broad to simply snip off. The removed tissue is sent to a lab for evaluation.
