Appendix Removal For A Burst Appendix

Removes an appendix that has already burst, through an incision in the abdomen, and washes out the pus and infection that has spread into the abdominal cavity. A drain may be left in place. It is a bigger undertaking than removing an intact appendix because the infection has escaped into the abdomen.
