Moving The Small Bowel Out Of The Pelvis

Vermont rates for HCPCS 44700

Lifts the loops of small intestine up out of the pelvis and holds them there using a mesh, a sling, or the patient's own tissue such as the fatty apron over the intestines. It is normally done so that the bowel sits outside the area about to be treated with radiation and is not damaged by it.
