Placement Of A Long Intestinal Tube

Vermont rates for HCPCS 44500

Passes a long flexible tube through the nose down into the small intestine, well beyond the stomach. It is used to drain and decompress the bowel when it is blocked or not moving, letting trapped fluid and gas out. The tube advances along the gut and is left in place while the bowel settles.
