Colonoscopy Through A Stoma With Foreign Body Removal

Wyoming rates for HCPCS 44390

This is a colonoscopy performed through a surgically created opening in the abdomen, called a stoma, rather than through the natural opening of the bowel, and includes removing a foreign object found during the exam. It's used for people who have had bowel surgery resulting in a stoma, allowing the colon to still be examined and treated when needed. The camera and instruments are passed directly through the stoma opening to reach the area of concern.
