Scope Through a Stoma With Balloon Widening

Vermont rates for HCPCS 44381

A flexible scope is passed through a surgical opening on the abdomen into the last part of the small intestine, and a balloon is inflated inside a narrowed segment to stretch it open. Widening the narrowing relieves cramping, bloating, and blockage of the bowel contents. No incision is needed because the existing opening is used.
