Converting a Stomach Feeding Tube to a Bowel Tube

Vermont rates for HCPCS 44373

A long flexible scope is passed deep into the small intestine, and an existing feeding tube that ends in the stomach is converted so that feed is delivered further along, into the small bowel. It is used when feeding into the stomach causes vomiting or when stomach contents are coming back up toward the lungs. The opening already present in the skin is used, so no new opening is made.
