Vermont rates for HCPCS 44340
A straightforward repair of a colostomy, the opening where the large bowel has been brought out to the skin, usually by freeing scar tissue at the surface so the opening works properly again. Only the area immediately around the stoma is dealt with; the abdomen is not opened to rebuild the bowel. It is used when the opening has narrowed or become distorted at skin level.
