Through small abdominal incisions and a camera, a diseased length of small intestine is cut out and the two healthy ends are joined back together. It is used for conditions such as Crohn's disease, a blockage, a growth, or bowel damaged by injury or poor blood supply. One segment is removed and a single join is made.
