Opening the Colon to Look Inside or Take a Sample

Vermont rates for HCPCS 44025

Opens the wall of the colon during abdominal surgery so the inside can be inspected, tissue sampled, or something lodged in it removed, and then closes the opening. It is used when the inside of the bowel has to be reached directly rather than with a scope. What is found determines what else is done.
