Opening The Small Bowel To Explore Or Take A Sample

Opens the small intestine through an incision in the abdomen so the surgeon can look inside it, take a tissue sample, or remove a swallowed or stuck object, then closes the opening. No length of bowel is removed and the ends are not rejoined. It is used when the area cannot be reached or dealt with using a swallowed telescope.
