Freeing Scar Tissue Around the Intestines

Vermont rates for HCPCS 44005

Divides bands of scar tissue that have formed between loops of intestine, or between the bowel and the abdominal wall, usually after earlier surgery or inflammation. Freeing the bowel relieves kinking and blockage and lets it move normally again. It calls for careful, unhurried dissection to avoid injuring the bowel wall.
