Keyhole Removal of a Gastric Band

Vermont rates for HCPCS 43772

Uses keyhole surgery to take out an adjustable band that was placed around the upper part of the stomach as a weight-loss device. Instruments and a camera are passed through small cuts in the abdomen, the scar tissue around the band is freed, and the band is unfastened and removed. It is done when the band slips, erodes, causes reflux or vomiting, or is no longer helping.
