Minimally Invasive Vagus Nerve Cutting Surgery

West Virginia rates for HCPCS 43651

This is a camera-guided surgery that cuts the main trunks of the vagus nerve where they enter the abdomen, reducing the stomach's acid production. It's performed through several small incisions rather than one large opening. This approach has largely been replaced by medications for most patients but is still used in select cases of severe, treatment-resistant stomach acid or ulcer disease.
