Keyhole Surgery for Acid Reflux

Vermont rates for HCPCS 43280

Wraps the top of the stomach around the lower end of the esophagus to tighten the valve where the two meet, so stomach acid can no longer wash back up. It is done through several small cuts in the abdomen using a camera and long instruments rather than one large incision. It is used for severe or long-standing reflux that medicines do not control well, or when a person cannot keep taking them.
