Upper Endoscopy With Injection of Varices

Vermont rates for HCPCS 43243

A flexible lighted scope is passed through the mouth into the esophagus, stomach, and the first part of the small intestine, and a sealing medicine is injected into swollen veins called varices. Sealing them stops bleeding, or prevents a vein that has already bled from bleeding again. The person is sedated throughout.
