Upper Endoscopy With Tube or Catheter Placement

Vermont rates for HCPCS 43241

A thin flexible scope is passed through the mouth into the esophagus, stomach and the first part of the small intestine, and a feeding or drainage tube is guided into position through it. Seeing the lining directly lets the doctor steer the tube past narrowed areas and confirm where it ends up. Sedation is normally given.
