Esophagus Stent Placed Through a Scope

Vermont rates for HCPCS 43212

A flexible scope is passed through the mouth into the esophagus, the tube carrying food to the stomach, and an expandable tube called a stent is placed across a narrowed or blocked section. The stent holds the passage open so food and liquid can pass again. Stretching the narrowing before and after the stent goes in is part of the same procedure when needed.
