Rigid Esophagus Scope to Remove a Swallowed Object

Vermont rates for HCPCS 43194

A straight, rigid scope is passed through the mouth into the esophagus so that an object stuck there can be grasped and pulled out. The rigid instrument gives a wide, protected working channel, which helps with sharp, bulky or firmly lodged objects. It is done under general anesthesia.
