Return Surgery to Stop Nasal-Passage Bleeding

Washington, DC rates for HCPCS 42972

A procedure to control bleeding from the back of the nose and upper throat area that requires a return trip to the operating room, typically after an earlier attempt to stop the bleeding was not enough. It is a more involved intervention than simple packing or cautery done at bedside. This is often needed after significant nosebleeds or as a complication following other ear, nose, and throat surgery.
