Surgery To Stop Bleeding At The Back Of The Throat

Vermont rates for HCPCS 42962

Stops bleeding at the back of the mouth and throat, most often after a tonsil operation, by taking the patient back to the operating room. Under anesthesia the surgeon finds the bleeding point, seals or ties it off, and clears any clot from the throat. It is used when pressure, packing and simpler measures have not brought the bleeding under control.
