Rebuilds or reshapes the pharynx, the muscular passage at the back of the mouth and nose through which food and air travel. Tissue is moved, trimmed or stitched to close a gap, restore the shape of the passage, or improve how it seals during speech and swallowing. It is used after injury, after tissue has been removed, or where the passage does not work properly.
