Widening Of A Salivary Duct Opening

Massachusetts rates for HCPCS 42660

Widening of the opening of a salivary gland duct, done to relieve narrowing or improve drainage from the gland. A contrast dye may also be injected at the same time to prepare for an imaging study that shows the internal structure of the duct, but the dilation can be performed on its own. When dye is used, it helps identify blockages, narrowing, or stones within the gland's drainage channel.
