Removal Of The Submandibular Salivary Gland

Wyoming rates for HCPCS 42440

Takes out the salivary gland that sits under the jaw on one side. The surgeon makes an incision in the upper neck below the jawline, frees the gland from the nearby nerves and blood vessels and removes it — usually because of repeated blockage by stones, long-standing infection or a growth. Laboratory examination of the removed gland is charged separately.
