Total Parotid Gland Removal With Neck Dissection

Vermont rates for HCPCS 42426

Removes the whole parotid salivary gland, which sits in front of and below the ear, together with a full clearance of the lymph glands and surrounding structures on the same side of the neck. It is done for cancer that has spread from the gland into the neck. The nerve that moves the face runs through this gland, so handling it is a central part of the operation.
