Removes a growth from the roof of the mouth or from the uvula, the small flap that hangs at the back of the throat. The whole lesion is cut away and the raw area is left to heal over on its own rather than being stitched shut or covered with a flap of tissue. It is chosen when the remaining area is small enough to close by itself.
