Partial Removal Of The Tongue

Vermont rates for HCPCS 41120

Removes a portion of the tongue — less than half of it — usually to take out a cancer or other growth together with a margin of healthy tissue around it. The work is done through the open mouth, and the remaining tongue is repaired so that speech and swallowing are affected as little as possible. Laboratory examination of the removed tissue is charged separately.
