Drainage of an Abscess Under the Jaw Through the Skin

Delaware rates for HCPCS 41017

Drains a pocket of pus or blood from the space beneath the jaw through a cut in the skin of the upper neck, rather than from inside the mouth. The pocket is opened, washed out and often left with a small drain so it keeps emptying. It is used for infections that have spread into that space.
