Lip Reconstruction With a Cross-Lip Flap

South Dakota rates for HCPCS 40761

Reconstructive surgery that borrows a wedge of tissue from the opposite lip, left attached by its own small blood supply, and swings it across to rebuild a lip that is deficient or distorted. The connecting bridge stays in place for a period so the transferred tissue can establish a blood supply in its new position, and is divided at a second stage. It is used when there is not enough lip tissue to close the gap directly.
