Removal of Part of the Diaphragm, Simple Repair

Vermont rates for HCPCS 39560

A section of the diaphragm, the breathing muscle between the chest and the abdomen, is cut out and the gap is closed by stitching the muscle edges back together. It is usually done when disease has spread onto the muscle and that part has to come out. Closing the muscle keeps the chest and abdomen properly separated.
