Chest Lymph Node Biopsy Through A Neck Incision

Vermont rates for HCPCS 39402

A scope is passed through a small cut just above the breastbone into the space between the lungs, so the surgeon can see and take samples of the lymph nodes that sit there. The samples are examined in a laboratory, most often to work out whether a lung cancer has spread and how far. It is done under general anesthesia.
