Cannulation Of The Thoracic Duct

South Dakota rates for HCPCS 38794

Places a fine tube into the thoracic duct, the main channel that carries lymph fluid from the body back into the bloodstream. Getting access to the duct allows lymph fluid to be drained or a contrast dye to be introduced so the duct can be studied. It is most often used when lymph fluid is leaking, particularly into the chest.
