Removal of Lymph Nodes Under the Jaw

Vermont rates for HCPCS 38700

Removes the lymph nodes lying in the area under the chin and jaw, just above the hyoid bone in the upper neck. They are taken out to find out whether a cancer of the mouth, lip, or face has spread into them, or to clear nodes already known to be involved. Everything removed is examined under a microscope.
