Tying Off a Leaking Main Lymph Channel

Oregon rates for HCPCS 38381

Surgery to tie off the thoracic duct, the body's main lymph channel, when it has been injured and is leaking. Sealing it stops milky lymph fluid from collecting where it does not belong, and the fluid finds its way back to the bloodstream through smaller channels instead. It is done as an open operation.
