Tying Off Connecting Veins In The Leg

Alaska rates for HCPCS 37761

Ties off the small connecting veins that run between the surface veins and the deep veins of the leg, reaching them through an incision that passes beneath the tough sheet of tissue covering the calf muscles. Ultrasound may be used during the operation to locate the veins. It treats one leg at a time and is used when failed valves in these veins cause swelling, skin discoloration, or an ulcer that will not heal.
