Tying Off The External Carotid Artery

Delaware rates for HCPCS 37600

Ties off the branch of the main neck artery that supplies the face, scalp, and jaw, permanently stopping blood flow through it. It is done to control heavy bleeding — for example from a severe nosebleed, a facial injury, or a tumor — or to reduce blood loss before certain operations. Blood reaches the area through other connections afterwards.
