Isolated Limb Chemotherapy Perfusion

Temporarily separates the blood flow of an arm or leg from the rest of the body by placing tubes in the limb's main artery and vein and connecting them to a pump. High-dose cancer drugs, sometimes warmed, are then circulated through the limb alone, so the tumor gets a much stronger dose than the body could tolerate overall. The tubes are taken out and the vessels repaired at the end of the treatment.
