Artery Line Placed Through a Small Incision

Maryland rates for HCPCS 36625

A small incision is made to expose an artery directly so that a fine tube can be threaded into it, allowing blood pressure to be read continuously and blood samples to be drawn without repeated needle sticks. Exposing the vessel this way is used when it cannot be entered with a needle through the skin. The tube stays in place for as long as close monitoring is needed.
