Removal of Tissue Sleeve Around a Central Line

Vermont rates for HCPCS 36595

Over time a sleeve of fibrous material can build up around the outside of a long-term central line where it sits in the vein, stopping it from drawing or flowing. This procedure clears that sleeve by entering a vein at a separate site and stripping the material away from the outside of the catheter under X-ray guidance.
