Replacement of a PICC Line

Vermont rates for HCPCS 36584

Replaces a long intravenous line that runs from a vein in the arm to a large vein near the heart, reusing the same entry point in the vein. The old catheter is withdrawn and a new one is threaded along the same route. It is done when the existing line is blocked, split or worn out but the access site itself is still good.
