Vein Catheter for Organ Blood Sampling

Wyoming rates for HCPCS 36500

A fine catheter is threaded through a vein and steered into the vein draining a particular organ or gland so that blood can be drawn from that exact spot. Comparing hormone or chemical levels in that sample with levels elsewhere shows whether the organ is the source of an overproduction, and which side is responsible.
