Push Transfusion For A Young Child

Washington, DC rates for HCPCS 36440

Blood is given to an infant or very young child by pushing it in steadily by hand through a syringe, rather than letting it drip in from a hanging bag. The hands-on method lets the clinician control the rate and volume closely for a very small patient.
